ABOUT 

Welcome to the Assistant United States Attorneys Association for the District of Columbia.

Membership to the Association is divided into three categories: Active, Judicial, and Honorary members.

Active Members. All present and former Assistant
United States Attorneys for the District of Columbia are eligible for Active membership, except Judicial members shall not be eligible for Active membership. Any former Assistant United States Attorney of any other District is also eligible for Active membership if he or she is a member in good standing of the bar of a state or US territory or the District of Columbia, and is practicing law in the District of Columbia, the District of Maryland, or the Eastern District of Virginia in private practice or with the Federal Government at the time of application.

Judicial Members. Any former Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia who is a judge or justice, administrative law judge, or Commissioner or Magistrate Judge of any court shall, during his or her incumbency, is eligible for Judicial membership. Judicial members are not eligible to hold office or to vote on any matter. Judicial members are exempt from the payment of dues.

Honorary Members. The incumbent United States Attorney and all former United States Attorneys for the District of Columbia are Honorary members. The Executive Council of the Association may designate Honorary members from time to time by a majority vote of the Executive Council. Honorary memberships can be given to those whose connections with the Association and its members and ideals merit such an honor. Honorary members are exempt from the payment of dues.
